This is the fifth two-day orthognathic surgery symposium, to be held in the Naim Dangoor auditorium of the Royal Society of Medicine, in the heart of London, on the 4th and 5th June 2020.

Our invited international speaker is Professor Jesse Taylor, a renowned plastic, reconstructive and craniofacial surgeon from the University of Pennsylvania. He will provide two lectures, discussing CAD-CAM technology in orthognathic and craniofacial planning, and the role of distraction osteogenesis in contemporary orthognathic surgery.

We have four UK keynote speakers: Professor Stephen Richmond holds the Chair in Orthodontics in Cardiff and has an international reputation in 3D planning and the use of technology in clinical practice, and he will be sharing his wealth of experience with the delegates. Mr Paul Johnson and Mr Ken Sneddon are two of the most respected consultants in maxillofacial surgery and will be covering the management of anterior open bites and orthognathic surgery for sleep apnoea respectively. Dr Karen Clark will provide a unique keynote presentation on dealing with difficulties when treating orthognathic patients.

As well as the invited speakers, the faculty will provide lectures on the orthodontic preparation and postoperative orthodontic mechanics in the orthognathic patient, the development of 3D planning in orthognathic practice and the pearls and pitfalls of moving from 2D to 3D planning, nasolabial changes and their influence on planning and surgical technique, and concomitant TMJ replacement surgery with orthognathic surgery from surgical and orthodontic perspectives.

Both days will include sessions with case presentations, panel discussions, with the opportunity for delegates to ask the keynote speakers and faculty any questions they may have.

We look forward to welcoming you to this symposium.
